New music request site!

Well, we just booked our DJ, and we are soooo excited about getting him. He seems to be on his game, which (as we have been told) is quite important for a wedding reception!

Probably the winning factor after his price tag and flexibility was the cool site that he offers clients to request music through. Instead of a basic form as we previously had on our site, you can now search for music.

Forget who exactly sang something? You can also listen to your search results and read lyrics to songs to make sure what you are requesting is what you thought it was!

Another nice feature is that you can see what other folks have requested, and 'Like' it, or give it a tally. That will help us see the popularity of a song and might help get it played.

RECEPTION & HOTEL INFO

We have a ceremony and reception location. What a relief!

The reception will be at the Delta King here in Old Sacramento. We have our own URL for hotel reservations if you want to stay there the night of. They are also throwing in a 15% discount when you book through the following URL. Should be nice!

Meetings, meetings, meetings

Well, as the title implies, we have a ton of meetings in the next few weeks to attend. Basically, its to select a photographer, DJ, and florist. Luckily, the reception site and ceremony sites are confirmed (woo!).

We are also finalizing the guest counts so we can order save-the-dates/invitations/etc. So many details to keep track of. =)

On another note, just had a bridal shower for my little sister. Her wedding is in a week and a half, and I am getting soooooooo excited for them! Immediately after the wedding she is moving to be with her man, and while we will surely miss her, I can only imagine how it will feel to finally get to see the one you love every day and night (instead of just weekends). I just about go nuts when I'm not with Mike, and our time apart hasn't lasted more than a weekend! I absolutely have to feel lucky that we can be as joined at the hip as we are, and continue to thrive.

The date is set!!!

Just got off the phone with the parish, and we have a ceremony site! Thats over half the battle, right?

I know I have failed to update this as much as I should, being that this is a blog and should be in real time, blah, blah, blah... But there has been sooo much discussion over the when and where and how to do this. After speaking with Father Giancarlo yesterday at St. Elizabeth here in Sacramento, our choice was really clear.

Not sure of the time yet, but will keep you posted!

Happy Friday

Hello world! Well, I just created our blog, and Mike and I are getting really excited about having this go public for all of our friends and family to see. Maybe its corny, but eh - a record of this occasion will be cherished for ever (at least by us!).

So it is Friday night and we are keeping a low profile. As I get some of the items on the blog started, Mike is whipping up some dinner. Gotta love a man who knows his way around a kitchen. =)
